On March 19, 2020, the Governor of California announced the Stay-at-Home Order requiring all non-essential businesses to suspend operations until April 19.
Following this emergency order, Democracy will temporarily suspend the shipment of all orders placed after 3pm March 19, 2020 and processing of all returns for the duration of the order from the State of California.
The situation is still unfolding. All information is subject to change. For now, this is what you need to know:
- Fulfillment teams are no longer fulfilling orders.
- Customer Service teams are working remotely from home during this situation. Customer Service will be available to answer your questions via email. Please use our contact form to email us click here.
- Return teams are no longer processing returns. Once we resume operations the returns will be processed.

To Receive a Return Label: To submit a return on an order you've received and print the return label, click HERE.
Gift Returns: If you changed your mind about a gift? We will not tell. Contact our Customer Care Team, to assist you with returning your gift to exchange for a new item.
Return Policy: Democracy gladly accepts the return of merchandise in its original condition (unworn, unwashed, with tags attached) or defective merchandise. Return must be made within 30 days of delivery and will be credited in the same form as the original payment method.
Final Sale Items denoted as final sale cannot be returned, exchanged or price adjusted.
Full Return Policy: You can return or exchange eligible items free of charge within 30 days of delivery date. We reserve the right to deny a refund if the returned merchandise does not meet our requirements. A shipment label charge of $6.50 will be deducted from your return for orders with a product subtotal under $100 that were shipped to and are returned from an address in the continental USA .
For all returns shipped to and returned from an address outside the continental USA: we do not provide return labels or refund any costs for the return shipping.
- Full-price and sales items in original condition, with all tags attached, can be returned for a full refund or exchanged within 30 days of the delivery date.
- Final-Sale items cannot be exchanged or returned at any time.
- Worn, altered or washed items cannot be returned or exchanged.
- In-store purchases cannot be returned or exchanged at democracyclothing.com
- Democracy merchandise purchased at independent retailers, department stores or discount stores must be returned to the retailer where it was purchased.
Returning by UPS using label printed from Democracyclothing.com is free of charge when the product order subtotal after discounts exceeds $100 and is within the continental U.S. If you need a new item(s) immediately, place a new order online or contact Democracy Customer Care Team Email or at 626-269-2860.
Exchanges At this time we are not able to process exchanges for Democracyclothing.com orders. Please return your original items and place a new order for the style and color you want.
Items Purchased at Other Locations Items purchased at a department store or any other store selling Democracy merchandise can not be returned to Democracyclothing.com. Only the retail store or website that you purchased the product from can accept the return.
Shipping Errors or Damaged Products If we process an order incorrectly or you receive a damaged or defective item, Democracy Clothing will gladly replace it or accept it for a full refund at our expense. Democracy will provide a prepaid shipping label to expedite the return for orders shipped within the U.S.
To receive your shipping label and arrange to replace your product, please contact:
- Democracy Customer Care Team Email or 626-269-2860 between 8am - 4pm PST and refer to the “order number” listed on your packing slip or your order confirmation email.
- Democracy customers using a third-party shipping service are responsible for any duties, taxes and shipping costs that may occur.
- Democracy is not liable for any damages and/or package loss from a third-party shipping service.
Refunds & Credits (Suspended until we resume operations) You will receive your refund in the original form of payment or receive a Democracy credit per our policies. Once we receive your return, we will process your refund within 14 business days and send you an email confirmation. Your bank may require additional time to post this transaction to your account. Please allow for 1 to 2 billing cycles from the day you return your merchandise for your account to be credited.
Price Adjustment Democracy will honor a one-time price adjustment on full-price items within 7 days of shipment date for price differences on Democracyclothing.com only. To receive a price adjustment, please contact Democracy Customer Care Team Email or 626-269-2860 and refer to the order number on your packing slip or the order confirmation email. All Sale items are excluded. Other promotions may also be excluded.
